The state of California has been allocated $116 million of LIHWAP. Low Income Household Water Assistance Program is a new federal level financial assistance program designed to help low-income citizens with their residential water utility bills.
The funds are managed by the California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD) and are distributed to local service providers. These providers participate in a network of community-based agencies in California.
