Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Interested applicants should schedule an appointment at their county’s office and bring the required documents listed below. At the appointment, clients will complete an application for the LIHEAP program and an award will be made on their behalf to their utility vendor by the agency.
Documentation Needed: Photo ID of applicant, Social Security Cards for all members of the household, Proof of income for the previous month for all adults over the age of 18 (if the applicant had no income source for the previous month, they will need to complete a Declaration of Household Income form), utility bill in the applicant’s name, completed LIHEAP application, completed LIHEAP vendor agreement form, and completed Alabama Power Portal form (for those applying for assistance on an Alabama Power Bill).
Alabama LIHWAP Program
Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a federally funded program designed to help income eligible Ohioans with their water and wastewater bills. Eligible clients are those at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG), who have been disconnected (or have a disconnection notice), or either need to establish new service, or pay to transfer service can receive assistance.
