About this LIHWAP program in La Grande, OR
Community Connection of Northeast Oregon, Inc. is the local Community Action Agency available for Baker, Grant, Union, and Wallowa counties. If you wish to receive energy assistance from the LIHEAP Program you must be at or below 60 percent of state median income.
The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a new federal program that is available to help households pay their water and wastewater (sewer) bills. Eligible households could qualify for a payment up to $1000 (base on household need). Applicants must have a water bill in an adult household member’s name. **if your water bill is in your landlord or property management company’s name, contact us to discuss and apply, as there are some extra steps in that case.
We currently have agreements with the following cities to service this program : Canyon City, Cove, Dayville, Elgin, Enterprise, Haines, Huntington, Imbler, Joseph, La Grande, Long Creek, Lostine, Monument, Mount Vernon, North Powder, Prairie City, Seneca, Union, Unity, and Wallowa.
