In the past 2 years, the Human Service Department has grown. This program came into effect during the fiscal year, which aims to work with social work recipients and non-welfare caregivers who owe child support and are referred by the justice system. Everyone may participate in their program and enjoy their benefits, regardless of disability, race, color, religion, gender, age or nationality, provided that they are eligible for service, which are: Rural residents Allowable income Meet the program guidelines In Need of Services Currently they offer services in the following Arizona areas: Littletown; Marana; 3 points; Continental; Vail; Catalina; Ajo; Tucson and Arivica.
They are currently still working with the Community Service Administration (CSA), which funds are used to offer Emergency Services to low-income individuals in Rural Communities, such as:
Marana, Catalina, Sahuarita, 3-point, Vail, Arivaca, Patagonia, South Tucson.
Their department also consists of more extensive Case Management in the following areas:
Douglas, Yuma, Pima, Pinal County.
Services provided by the Human Services Program include:
Emergency and Disaster Assistance
Food, clothing and rental assistance
Crisis intervention advice
Payments for emergency public services
Services for elderly people
Planning and economic development
Awareness and Community Organization
Referrals to other agencies
Arizona LIHWAP Housing Stability and Utility Assistance Programs
Households in need for water and wastewater assistance may receive up to $3,000
The Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) provides Arizona households with financial relief toward water and wastewater bills, including water restoration, past-due obligations, and future bills. Eligible households can receive up to $3,000 in water assistance, depending on their need. Assistance is disbursed directly to the applicant's water service provider(s). Eligibility
To be eligible for LIHWAP, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
Be (or a member of the household is) a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen Qualified non-citizens include lawful permanent residents, asylees, refugees, certain individuals with parole status, those whose deportations are being withheld, those who have been granted conditional entry (prior to April 1, 1980), individuals who are the victims of battery, Cuban/Haitain entrants, and victims of a severe form of trafficking.
Be a resident of Arizona at the time of application (demonstrated by a water bill for services within the state of Arizona)
Have a household income at or below 60% of the state median income (for households of 8 or fewer members) OR have a household income at or below 150% of the federal poverty level (for households with more than 8 members)
Have not received any other financial assistance for water services during the time period for which the applicant is seeking LIHWAP assistance
Payment for late and past due water bills
Prevent disconnection of water services
Includes sewer and wastewater costs
Grant-federally funded
The LIHWAP responisble for the entire state of Arizona is located in Phoenix
